Sustainable Fashion Week Hub at The Old Print Works
Friday 3rd - Sunday 5th October
Join us at The Old Print Works for an exciting programme of all things sustainable fashion! We are the Birmingham Hub for Sustainable Fashion Week, a national event with Hubs joining in all across the country. Our community focused and inclusive programme is run and delivered by an amazing team of volunteers. Come along to our events and join the sustainable fashion movement in your local community.
Here's a closer look at what's on:
Friday 3rd October 6:30pm-9pm OUTFIT EXCHANGE
Swap ‘til you drop at The Old Print Works’ Clothing Exchange. Trade what you no longer wear for something you’ll love. Refresh your look, sustainably. No waste, just conscious style. Bring a maximum of 10 good quality items to swap - clothing or fashion accessories. We welcome all gender identities and expressions. This event is a supportive, affirming space for self-expression. Reclaim your style through the lens of sustainable fashion. Garments will be displayed by type and will not be assigned a gender, encouraging everyone to engage with and explore clothing and style freely and in a way that feels authentic for them.
Saturday 4th October 1-5pm SUSTAINABLE SKILLSHARE
Come along and experiment with shared techniques and new materials. Share skills, stories and sustainable making. Activities includes block printing, nettle cordage, seaweed fibres, mindful mending, and decorative patch printing. Drop in to our welcoming and friendly creative community.
Saturday 4th October 7:30PM-late CONSCIOUS CATWALK
A fresh take on the traditional fashion show - we’re swapping the pressure of fast outfit changes for a slower, more immersive experience. Designers will be showcasing their collections in their own voice, at their own pace, with time for conversation around sustainability through upcycling, slow fashion, ethical sourcing, experimental reuse, and anything in between. Think atmospheric lighting, great energy, a DJ on the decks, and a bar serving drinks throughout the evening. Models will appear at intervals, giving space for each designer’s work to shine and for guests to engage, snap photos, and enjoy the ambiance. A unique opportunity to see creative concepts from emerging designers up close and connect with a fashion-savvy crowd in a beautiful heritage space.
Sunday 5th October 2-6pm SUSTAINABLE FASHION FORUM
Insights from leading local makers, thinkers, and change-makers in sustainability. An afternoon of shared ideas and community conversations about sustainable style, identity and self-expression. Bring your questions; find inspiration and support.
